1. General Description     Y,YR series,YKK,YKS,YRKK,YRKS series medium sized high voltage three-phases asynchronous motors (shaft height 355-630mm) are our optimized product series adopted the technical standard of high voltage three-phases asynchronous motors introduced from ABB and established on the basis of our experience of manufacturing high voltage motors, for upgrading the old JS,JSQ,JR and JRQ series.     These series motors adopt fine materials, excellent workmanship and features low operation cost, low noise, low vibration, high reliability and convenience for installation and maintenance.      The motors of these series meet the National Standard GB755 (Fundamental Technical Requirements For Rotation Electrical Machines), IEC Standards and Enterprise Standard of Mechanical and Electronic Industries Department JB/DQ3134, JB/DQ3135, JB/DQ3436 and JB/DQ3437.      The mechanical dimensions and tolerances of this series of motors conform with the China national standard GB l800-1804 and the ISO standard.     In respect to enclosure protection degree, the motor of these series are of IP23 and IP44 of GB4942.1 and IEC34-5 (Classification of Enclosure Protection of Electrical Machines). Motors of drip-proof IP23 can be modified to motors of pipe ventilation IP44 upon request of customer requests. Other protection degree such as IP24 and IP54 are also possible by separate agreement if customer requests .     In respect to type of cooling, the motors of these series are of IC01 , IC611 and IC81W of China National Standard GB1993 and IEC34-6 (Type of Cooling of Electrical Machines). Other type of cooling are also possible by separate agreement if customer requests.     In respect to type of mounting the motors of these series are of IMB3 horizontal with feet, satisfying the requirements of GB997 and IEC34-7 (Construction and Code for Type of Mounting of Electrical Machines). 3. Brief Construction     Made to box construction, the motors are light in weight and rigid in construction. On both sides and top of the stator frame, there are openings for mounting protection shield of cover plate which could be removed when necessary for looking into the inside and reaching the inside for repair and maintenance.     Y,YR series are the basic series with enclosure protection degree IP23. Removing the protection shield and cover plate and then mounting different shield and cover plate can yield different enclosure protection and types of cooling.     The stator is so constructed as the stator core is stacked and assembled with coils to form an individual assembly which is then put into the stator housing. The stator winding is of Class F insulation and rigidly supported and braced at the end portion. During processing, the coils undergo several turn to turn pulse voltage tests and voltage endurance test to ground and vacuum pressure impregnated with solvent-free varnish. Therefore, the motor is reliable in insulation properties, good in mechanical strength and anti-moisture.     Advanced brazing technology is used for squirrel cage induction motor and the slot contents are rigidly supported. Wound motor is of class F insulation and vacuum pressures impregnated with solvent-free varnish. AII the brazed points and joints of the rotor are insulated.      Depending on the output and speed of the motor, rolling bearing or sleeve bearing of protection IP44 is used. If the motor has a higher enclosure protection degree, the bearing will have a higher protection degree accordingly.     The main lead box is of IP54 protection. It is at the right side of the motor (viewing from facing the shaft extension side). It can also be at the left side of motor upon order request. Ground terminals are provided both inside and outside the main lead box. 4. Application     The motors are applicable to drive various types of universal machines, such as compressors water pumps, breakers, cutting machine tools, transportation equipments and other mechanical equipment. They are widely used in mining, mechanical, petrochemical industries and power plants as prime movers. If the motors are to be used to drive blowers, coal mills and steel mills, and hoists, relevant technical information should be provided when placing an order based on which special design consideration will be given to the motors so as to ensure motor reliable operation. 5. Stating of squirrel cage induction motors     (Y,YKS, YKK series)     For design of squirrel cage induction motors, advanced calculation technology is used to calculate the motor starting temperature rise and stress so as to protect the motor from early damage due to overloaded starting.     Recommendations for customer to check:     l. The moment of inertia of the rotation part of the driven equipment (converted to motor speed) should not exceed the value specified by J load in the Technical Date Table.     2. The terminal voltage of the motor should not be less than 85% of its rated voltage during starting.     3. The resistance torque characteristics of the driven machine should be the characteristics of water pump and blower.     Under the above conditions, the motor is allowed to start twice successively at actuarial cold state natural shut down between two starts or once at hot start. Additional start should be made four hours later after shut down.     If the moment of inertia of the rotating part of the driven machine is greater than the J load indicated in the Technical Date Tables or the motor is requested to start frequently, or the motor is requested to start with load, please contact and discuss with the manufacturer for special design requirement before placing an order as so to assure reliable operation of the motor.
