On the market, there are primarily two types of synchronous electric motors, that is, non-excited synchronous motors and DC excited synchronous motors. The former is designed with a self-starting circuit and needs no additional excitation supply, while the latter demands direct current for excitation. Additionally, the non-excited motor usually falls into two subtypes, that is, reluctance motors and hysteresis motors. Synchronous electric motors in reluctance designs have low torque and are mainly used for instrumentation applications. Hysteresis synchronous motors are more frequently used as servomotors and timing motors. They cost more and are regularly used in places requiring precise constant speed.

 

(1) Construction
Synchronous motors can be designed in many a structure. In addition to the most commonly used double-bearing pedestal structure, synchronous electric motors can also be designed into non-bearing pedestal structures and single-bearing pedestal structures. Additionally, self cooling and ventilating motors, horizontal mounted or vertical mounted motors, brush excitation model and brushless excitation model synchronous motors are all available here.
(2) Protection level
Enclosure protection levels of our synchronous motors range from IP00 to IP54.
(3) Material
The motor frame, end shield and bottom plates are all made of steel plate, so the motor has strong rigidity and strength.
(4) Cooling methods
Designed with thermal detector elements in stator and bearings, the synchronous motor can automatically conduct temperature monitoring.
This synchronous electric equipment is designed with salient type rotor magnetic pole and equipped with fan at the two ends of the magnetic yoke. So, the cooling air can be drawn into the inner part of rotor to cool the rotor core. This provides the motor with good cooling effect. Some other cooling methods, like air-water cooling, tubular ventilating, are also possible.
(5) Bearing
This synchronous motor can be designed with end shield type sliding bearings, pedestal sliding bearings, and grease lubricating rolling bearings, etc.
