3. Properties    
White to offwhite power or granules. Odorless, non-toxic, hygroscopic. Density 1.3g/cm, apparent density 0.25-0.7g/cm3, discoloring temperature 190-200°C, carbonizing temperature 225-230°C, surface tension (25°C) 47-53dyn/cm. Technically insoluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, chloroform; soluble in water, acetic acid, ethanol/chloroform (1:1). Swells in water at 80-90°C and dissolves. Its aqueous solution is stable at room temperature and may gelatinize at high temperature.
MC is non-ionic. It has excellent dispersibility, adhesiveness, emulsifying, moisturizing and thickenning effect. MC membrane is oil repellent. MC aqueous is stable between pH2 and pH12.

4. Use
As a substitute for water-soluble gums; in adhesives, as thickening agent in cosmetics, as protective colloid in emulsions, as binder and stabilizer in foods. As bulk producer in the formulation of dietetic foods.

5. Packaging and storage
PVC lined plastic bag, n.w. 20Kg or 15Kg. It shall be kept well closed in a ventilated place. Avoid moisture, fire, heat and direct sunlight.
