PROPERTIES:
d-Allethrin is used mainly for the control of flies and mosquitoes in the home, flying and crawing insects on farm, animals, and fleas and ticks on dogs and cats. It is formulated as aerosol, sprays, dusts, smoke coils and mats. It is used alonely or combined with synergists. It is also available in form of emulsifiable concentrates and wettable powders. Synergistic formulations (aerosols ordips) have been used on fruits and vegetables, post-harvest, in storage, and in processing plants. Post-harvest use on stored grain (surface treatment) has also been approved in some countries.

TOXICOLOGY:
Swallowed: LD50 (male rat) = 2150 mg/kg; LD50 (female rat) = 900 mg/kg.
Skin: LD50 (male rat) = 2660 mg/kg; LD50 (female rat) = 4390 mg/kg.
Inhalation: LC50 rat (4 hour) > 3.875 mg/L of air.
Eye irritancy: Slight irritating.
Skin irritancy: Non irritating.
Sensitisation: Non sensitising.
Long term toxicity: Non-teratogenic, non-mutagenic, non-carcinogenic, non-genotoxic.
