Undensified Silica fume /microsilica 96 grade
Silica fume/microsilica , also called as micro silica, silica dust, is a by-product of producing silicon metal or ferrosilicon alloys. Silica fume consists primarily of amorphous (non-crystalline) silicon dioxide (SiO2).
1.Improved flow
Silica fume will improve the flow properties of a castable. The dense particle packing achieved by silica fume additions will minimise the amount of water needed for casting. This gives low porosity and high strength properties in the fired product.
2.High temperature strength
Due to its small particle size, silica fume particles fill the voids between larger aggregates and give dense castables. A dense castable will have lower permeability, higher strength and higher thermal conductivity.
