Ceramic ladder ring absorbs the characteristics of ceramic Raschig ring, makes some improvements on Pall Ring, with height to diameter ratio of 1:2. and adds a cone-shaped flange at one end, reducing the resistance of gas through the bed, increasing flux,and of high intensity. because of its structural characteristics, gas and liquid can be evenly distributed. In addition, there is an increase of gas-liquid contact area and increased mass transfer efficiency.

And because the symmetry of the structure is destroyed, ladder ring can increase the chance of oriented placement. Because of flanging effect, Ladder ring also make the main model of contact   from the linear contact to point contact. In this way, it not only increases the gap between the filler particles, reduces the resistance of gas through the packing layer, and these contacts can also fill the surface of the liquid flows along the scattered point of convergence, thereby contributes to the updating of surface of the liquid film and lastly being conducive to an increase of mass transfer efficiency. Therefore,compared with ceramic pall ring, the performance of ceramic ladder ring has been furtherly raised.
