QPQ CompIex Salt Bath Treatment Technology & Equipment

 
QPQ complex salt bath treatment, the world latest metal surface strengthening technology can substantially improve the wear- and corrosion-resistance of the metal surface, approximately 10 times higher than by conventional heat treatment and surface protection. Also, this technology features least distortion, non-pollution and energy-saving. The key to this technology-salt bath ingredient is internationally monopolized by Degussa.
After many years' tests and research, Chengdu Tool Research Institute of MMI (CTRI) has successfully developed a unique salt ingredient, which breaks the technology monopoly of Degussa and features higher non-pollution level.
Technical features
1) Good Wear Resistance and Good anti-fetigue
Test results show that, the wear resistance of the medium-carbon steel by QPQ treatment can be up to 30 times as high as by conventional quenching, 14 times that of lowcarbon steel by carbonizing quenching, and its fatigue strength can improve by 40%.
2) Good Corrosion Resistance
The corrosion resistance of the medium-carbon steel by QPQ treatment can be up to 70 times as high as by hard chrome plating, 35 times by decorative chrome plating.
3) Least Distortion
Work pieces by QPQ treatment feature least distortion. The technology has successfully solved the distortion problem arising from the heat treatment.
4) Replacement of multi-procedures
With substantial improvement in wear- and corrosion- resistance, it can replace multipro-cedures of heat treatment such as quenching (hi-frequency quenching, carbonizing quenching) -tempering- blackening (chrome platiing), there by greatly shortening production cycles and reducing production costs.
