Prior to purchase     40 CFR part 211 Subpart B

The NRR calculated from these laboratory based attenuation data is 22.Improper fit this device will reduce its effectiveness it attenuating noise.Consult instructions for proper fit

The level of noise entering a person’s ear when a hearing protector is worn as dire is closely approximated by the difference between the A-weighted environmental noise level and the NRR

EXAMPLE

1.The environmental noise level as measured at the ear is 92dba

2.the NRR is 22decibels(db)

3.the level of noise entering the ear is approximately equal to 70dba

CAUTION:For noise environments dominated by frequencies below 500Hz,the C-weighted environmental noise level should be used.

Earmuffs must be worn at all times in noisy surroundings for proper protection.

Although hearing protectors can be recommended for protection against the harmful effects of sive noise, the noise reduction rating(NRR)is based on the attenuation of continuous noise an not be an accurate indicator of the protection attainable against impulsive noise such as gunfire(wording required by EPA).

The EPA has selected the NRRas the measure of a hearing protector’s noise reducing capabilities Aearo Technologies makes no warranties as to the suitability of the NRRas a measure of actual place protection since such protection is highly dependent on user training, motivation, and utition.A better estimate of workplace protection can be obtained by derating the labeled NRR of the any other hearing protector,by 50%
