AAAC: All aluminum alloy stranded bare conductor
Brief introduction
This all aluminum alloy conductor is made from aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloy of high electrical conductivity containing enough magnesium silicide to give it better mechanical properties after treatment. These conductors are generally made out of aluminium alloy 6201. AAAC conductor has a better corrosion resistance and better strength to weight ratio and improved electrical conductivity than ACSR conductor on equal diameter basis.
Description
The conductor consists of Aluminum Magnesium-Silicon alloy wires stranded in successive layers in opposite direction and the outer layer is right hand direction Z.
Application
AAAC bare conductors are used for primacy and secondary overhead power transmission lines and distribution system having long spans and high resistance to corrosion (Used primarily for 600V overhead secondary distribution lines).
Natural grease may be applied between the layers of AAAC except the outer layer.
Mode
AAAC (Model of aluminum alloy stranded conductor is AAAC in English.)
Specification
The cross section areas stands for the specification, such as the following120 Sq meters with DIN48201
Construction as per DIN48201, BS EN 50182, IEC61089, ASTM B399, CSA C49, ICEA S-61-402 and S-66-524.
Construction
1. Conductor are aluminum alloy 1350-H19, 6201-t81, concentrically stranded.
2. The construction of aluminum alloy stranded conductor should correspond with that shown in Fig.3.
3. The structure characteristics, weight and manufacturing length should correspond with the regulations listed in table 3
