 On the surface of the cordierite or metallic substrate, coated with high surface area and good thermal stability washcoat with less  precious metals such as platinum, palladium and rhodium, which  are used for purifying of unburned hydrocarbons (HC) , carbon monoxide (CO) , and oxides of nitrogen (NOX) form the internal combustion engine . The cells of honeycomb density can be 100,200,300, 400 or 600 cpsi and more. The shape will be round, oval,  racetrack or other special .
