Performance

1. Widely-used cold-work die steel is a high-carbon and high-chromium type of ledeburite steel.

2. Having good hardenability and abrasive resistance, with small quenching distortion. 3. Having bad impact toughness, it is brittle and it is easy to form uneven eutectic carbides.

Applications

1. It is mainly used for manufacture of cold-work dies, punches, cold cutting scissors, drill bushes, gauges, wire-drawing dies, coining dies, draw bench boards, drawing dies, thread rolling dies, etc. with high abrasive resistance and small shock load.

 2. It is used for processing of cutters made of materials which are not hard. 3. It is used for plastic moulds with high abrasive resistance and long service life.
