Center the corn kerneler over top of corn cob. The narrow end should face up and the base should be flat on the surface for best stability (you may need to cut the end of the corn cob to make a flat surface). Grip your hands over the textured surface for placement and firmly press straight down until you reach the end of the cob. De-kerneled corn cob will come up through the middle. With the spout opening in the downward position, shake out corn kernels to remove.
