The drop-out fuse cutout can offer overcurrent protection to the equipment which is easy to damage caused by system over-voltage or fault condition. In electrical distribution, a fuse cutout or cut-out fuse is a combination of a fuse and a switch, used in primary overhead feeder lines and taps to protect distribution transformers from current surges and overloads. An overcurrent caused by a fault in the transformer or customer circuit will cause the fuse to melt, disconnecting the transformer from the line. It can also be opened manually by utility linemen standing on the ground and using a long insulating stick called a hot stick. Besides, the drop-out fuse cutout has advantages of flexibility, excellent property, convenient installation, long-term running without fault and long service life.

Application scope
1).100A fuse holder can hold fuse-link with rated current 6A-100A, while the 200A fuse holder can hold fuse-link with rated current 100A-200A. In some special occasion, the fuse-link is chosen based on continuous overcurrent, the types of protective equipment and other demands of overcurrent protective equipment. The types of protective equipment include circuit-breaker, recloser, other fuses and circuits.
2). The fuse links used in most distribution cutouts are tin or silver alloy fuse links that melt (or operate) when exposed to high current conditions. The ampere ratings of fuse elements rated from 100 ampere to 200 amperes.

Structure of fuse cutout
1). Fuse tube: is made of high intensity epoxy glass fiber pipe.
2). The base of fuse cutout: the base is composed of embedded mechanical structure and insulator. The metal bar of the installation mechanical structure, which adheres to the insulator through special adhesive material, can bear power generated from breaking short circuit current.
