Shark-based chondroitin sulfate is the acid mucopolysaccharide(AMPS) extracted from shark cartilage. It mainly contains C mucopolysaccharide which belongs to C type chondroitin sulfate. 

Chondroitin sulfate is used to treat neuralgia, nervous hemicrania, arthritis, shoulder joint pain, and pain after abdominal surgery, etc. 

Chondroitin sulfate is also used to prevent and treat hearing impairment caused by streptomycin and a variety of noise caused hearing difficulties and tinnitus with significant effect. It plays a good role in the prevention and treatment of eye conjunctivitis and corneal ulcer as well it is also widely used in eye drops.
