1. 1 Definition

This specification together with the GA Drawing is intended to describe the construction of a twin screw fixed pitch propellers tugboat completely outfitted and equipped for harbor duties, berthing, towing, pushing, offshore activities and other related duties. It will be classed to BV as a tug for 1 X Hull  X MACH Tug, Unrestricted Service and will comply with the regulations of Singapore.

             The following terms will be used in this specification

 

a)  Owner            :   Greenbay Marine Technologies Pte Ltd (Singapore)

b) Shipbuilder       :   Zhuhai Chonlong Shipyard Co., Ltd. (China)

 c) Classification    :   BV

 d)  Consultants     :   Greenbay Marine Pte Ltd.

1.2        General Description

The vessel is to be all welded steel construction and to be propelled by two (2) marine diesel engines with fixed pitch propellers inside fixed nozzles.  The vessel's accommodation is to be located on main deck and raised forecastle deck.  The main hull is to be divided by five (5) transverse WT bulkheads into the following compartments:-

1)        Forepeak S.W. ballast tank

2)        Bow thruster compartment

3)        F.W. tanks (P & S)

4)        Engine room, engine control room, F.O. wing tank, S.W.B. tanks (P & S) & double bottom F.O. tanks

5)        F.O. tanks (P & S) and F.O. centre tank

6)        Steering gear compartment and S.W. ballast tanks (P & S)

1.3        Classification

The vessel is to be constructed, machinery installed and equipment in accordance with the latest Rules for Building & Classing of Steel Vessel of BV (hereinafter referred to as Classification) and to their special survey to hull and machinery for Class Notation, BV 1 X Hull  X MACH Tug for Unrestricted Service.

1.4        Regulations

The vessel is to comply with:-

a)  Solas 1974 & all latest amendments at date of signing of this contract.

b)  International Loadline Convention 1966.

c)  Radio Communication Regulation to Government Regulation.

d)  IMO Stability Guideline A167/A469.

e)  International Convention of Prevention of Collisions at Sea 1972.

f)   International Tonnage measurement Convention 1969.

g)  Marpol 73/78 (CLASS to issue statement of facts of compliance).

h)          Maritime laws and Class regulations of Singapore.

i)             The Merchant Shipping (Non-Convention Ships) Safety Regulations 1981.

1.5        Certificates

The following certificates are to be supplied to the owners at the time of delivery of the vessel.

a)  Builder's Certificate

b)  Classification Certificate (Hull and Machinery)

c)  Safety Equipment Certificate

d)  Safety Construction Certificate

e)  Tonnage Certificate

f)   Loadline Certificate

g)  Safety Radio Certificate

h)          Marpol Statement of Fact Certificate (to be issued by CLASS.)

i)             International Oil Pollution Certificate

j)            Class Approved Final Trim & Stability Report

k)           Compass Adjustment Card

l)             Bollard Pull Test Certificate

m)         Any other certificates relevant to the building of the vessel

 

The cost of all fees and charges incurred for survey, Classification and issue of certificates are to be borne by the builders.
