It is colorless, transparent liquid with special odour. It is soluble in alcohol, ether and benzene. Specific gravity 1.0697, melting point 7.2 C.

2.Usage: On medicine, used for the intermediate of fenfluramine and pyrimethamine; On farm chemicals, acted as raw material of fenvalerate, flucythrinate, esfenvalerate and the other insecticides, triazole bactericides such as diniconazole, Saturn and trifluralin and plant-growth regulators such as paclobutrazol, as well as syntheses of p-chorobenzaldehyde.
