PAC-SL 

is used to control fluid loss in fresh or seawater systems and, unlike conventional CMC's is effective in saturated salt solutions and magnesium brines. It shows good resistance to calcium contamination.

PAC-SL is particularly useful in weighted mud systems. It exerts a slight dispersing action, which helps to control gel strengths, and improves filter cake quality.

PAC must be added slowly and evenly through a hopper at a rate not faster than 15 to 20 minutes per sack to prevent formation of large gelled particles.
