To move steps: 1 Select one or more steps to move in the steps list. 2 From the Steps window: Steps > Move The cursor is displayed as a horizontal arrow with a pair of footprints. 3 Push [Esc] to cancel the move operation. Bypass Use the Bypass option to bypass any selected steps in the list. If an insertion step is bypassed, that component is not inserted when the product is run. If a special step is bypassed, that step is not performed when the product is run. The Product Editor does not allow certain steps to be bypassed. These steps are: . Index . Index to Transfer . Feed-Only To bypass a step: 1 Select one or more steps to bypass from the steps list. 2 From the Steps window: Steps > Bypass 3 The steps selected for bypass are displayed or highlighted in dark red and are labeled as bypassed. No Continuity Use the No Continuity option as a method to dry cycle the machine, so that when the machine is run, continuity is checked. If continuity is sensed indicating a part was inserted, an error occurs. Typically, no continuity is performed with the head off. For sequencing machines, no components are dispensed onto the chain. The Product Editor does not allow certain steps to be set for no continuity. These steps include: . Index . Index to Transfer . Feed-Only . Park To set steps for no continuity: 1 Select one or more steps for no continuity. 2 From the Steps window: Steps > No Continuity 3 The steps selected for no continuity are displayed or highlighted in blue and are labeled as No Continuity steps. Ignore Continuity Use the Ignore Continuity option as a method to dry cycle the machine so that when the machine is run, continuity is not checked. Typically, ignore continuity is performed with the head off. For sequencing machines, components are dispensed onto the sequencing chain. The Product Editor does not allow certain steps to be set for ignore continuity. These steps include: . Index . Index to Transfer . Feed-Only . Park To set steps for ignore continuity: 1 Select one or more steps to set for ignore continuity. 2 From the Steps window: Steps > Ignore Continuity 3 The steps selected for ignore continuity are displayed or highlighted in pink and are labeled as Ignore Continuity steps. Enable Use the Enable option to enable any selected bypassed steps in the steps list. Considerations: Only bypassed steps can be enabled. To enable a step: 1 Select one or more bypassed steps to enable from the steps list. 2 From the Steps window: Steps > Enable 3 The steps selected for enable are displayed in their original color. Steps 47139812 Rev. - If a component has been set for bypass, no continuity, or ignore continuity (from the Component menu bar heading of the Product Editor window), and a step of that component is enabled, the component is enabled. However, all other steps of that component remain at their current state. For example, if component diode-axial is bypassed, and one step of diode-axial is enabled, all other steps of diode-axial remain bypassed. A message similar to the following is displayed when enabling a step. If a circuit has been set for bypass, no continuity, or ignore continuity (from the Circuit menu bar heading of the Circuit List window), and a step from that circuit is enabled, the circuit is enabled. However, all other steps from that circuit remain at their current state. For example, if offset 2 is set for no continuity, and one step of offset 2 is enabled, all other steps of offset 2 remain set for no continuity. A message similar to the following is displayed when enabling a step. Sort Use the Sort option to sort selected steps by selected parameters. The steps can be sorted in ascending (1, 2, 3, ...) or descending (4, 3, 2, ...) order. Refer to the Sort topic later in this module. This option changes the order of how the components are inserted on the board. Components insertions can be sorted as follows. . X Coordinate: Sorts by the X coordinate value as defined in the Insertion List window. The secondary sort is by the Y coordinate. . Y Coordinate: Sorts by the Y coordinate value as defined in the Insertion List window. The secondary sort is by the X coordinate. . Circuit: Sorts by the circuit number. . Height: Sorts by the component height from smallest to largest as defined in the component database. . Theta: Sorts by the theta value of the component insertion as defined in the Insertion List window. . Hole Span: (Axial only) Sorts by the hole span value of the component insertion as defined in the Insertion List window.
