Application

 

AFP Pitot Gage is a measuring meter to be used by such industries like coal mine, metallurgy, railway, and architecture for the ventilation engineering. It can be used in following cases while working together with all kinds of Differential Pressure Meter:

1. Windfinding head 2.total pressure tube 3. Static pressure tube 4. Static pressure tube joint 5. Total pressure joint

1. Measuring the wind speed of any point in a ventilation system of a mine.

2. Measuring the wind resistance of any section of the ventilation system of a mine.

3. Identifying the performance of the main fanner or local fanner of a mine.

4. Measuring the flux of the methane drainer of a mine

5. Measuring reference wind speed of the air duct for wind meter verifying.

 

Working principles

The dynamic pressure value can be detected at the detecting points when the joints of the Pitot tube are connected to the differential pressure meters through a rubber pipe. Based on the theory of hydrodynamics, the relationship between the dynamic pressure value of incondensable fluid and the wind velocity at wind testing point can be shown by the function below.

Application

Precautions

1. Read the instructions carefully before using the ptot tube, and properly operate it according to the instructions.

2. Make sure the pitot tube is dry with no water drops inside the tube, which should be unobstructed before use.

3. Crashing is strictly prohibited while in operation; otherwise, the detecting head may provide inaccurate results for damaged states.

4. There should be no air leakage on the linking system, composed of pitot tube and differential gauge.

5. There should be no strong vortex or huge pressure fluctuation around measuring point.

6. Make sure the pitot tube faces against the wind without swinging.

7. The truth value can be obtained by taking the dynamic pressure value times the correction coefficient.

8. The pitot tube should be wipe up after use and kept into the instrument box, which should be stored in a dry environment.

Transportation and Storage

1. Pitot tube can be transported by various ways including land, water, and air. Violent collision, pressure, rain, and mixed loading with corrosive stuff are prohibited while transferring.

2. Pitot tube should be stored in storehouse with smooth air circulation, no corrosive air, drip or liquid penetration. The air relative humidity should not be over 90% with the temperature variance of 0~40.
