1,General desciption

 

2032 Speed control unit Series Speed Control Unit is rugged enough to be placed in a control cabinet or generator mounted enclosure with other dedicated control equipment. If water, mist or condensation may come in contact with the controller, it should be mounted vertically. This will allow the fluid to drain away from the speed control unit. Extreme heat should be avoided.

 

2,Installation

2.1 Connect Terminal 1 and 2 of actuator to terminal 3 and 4 of battery by cable of 1.5mm2 section or cable of larger section. Long cables require an increased wire size to minimize voltage drops, and especially pay attention to wire pathway when using 12v voltage. Terminal 4 of battery anode should be in series with 10A fuse.

2.2 Speed sensor joints terminal 5 and terminal 6 using double core cable in shield. The shield should be insulated to insure no other part of the shield comes in contact with engine ground, otherwise stray speed signals may be introduced to the speed control unit.

2.3 With the generator stopped, adjust the gap between the magnetic speed sensor and the ring gear teeth. The gap should not be any smaller than 0.020 in. (0.45mm). Usually, backing out the speed sensor 3/4 turn after touching the ring gear tooth will achieve a satisfactory air gap. The magnetic speed sensor voltage should be at least 1

VAC RMS during cranking.

2.4 Don’t adjust Speed Control Unit before Diesel Startup, and user adjusts subtly after generator have started.

 

3,Speed control unit enactment  

3.2 Rotate STAB(stabilization adjustment) at a clockwise direction until it have the appearance for unstable state, then appreciably adjust at a anti-clockwise direction until system is turning into a stable state(The stabilization is much higher, and Governor system response will be slower ), stabilization coefficients can be a prodigious discrepancy due to different fuel system, pump set couplings and flywheel structure.)

3.3 Rotate GAIN(plus adjustment ) at a clockwise direction until it have the appearance for unstable state, and accurate remove to counterclockwise gradually until the Governor system is stable. when gaining is much higher, Governor system adjust precision is much higher to arose the Governor system overshooting easily.

3.4 Appreciably readjust SPEED as the pump set required.

3.5 If engine need to import idle speed running, rated revolution can be slow down by connecting the terminal 10,11,then adjust IDLE(idle adjustment) for o rated revolution (it’s about 50% of rated revolution as a rule).

 

4,Two ways to operate engine speed controlling unit

 

 4.1 Direct to run at full speed after starting the engine.(it fits for engine meeting an emergency)

4.2 Run the idle speed for a period of time after starting the engine, then the speed will be went up. Using this way for startup process can reduce the exhausted consume an equipment damage.(it’s good for environment protection and prolong the life of equipment to work for more long time).

After choosing the idle speed running to rise speed to get a full speed by delaying 2s.When switching on S5,it can be added 4s for idle speed running.when switching on S6,it can be added 8s for idle speed running.when switching on bothS5,S6,it can be added 14s for idle speed running.

 

5,How to make several set facility parallel operation

 

 Paralleling connection switch in-phase close brake interlock switches, connect terminal 8 to terminal 9 to make external trait of generator to change soft. Adjust droop trait switch clockwise slightly to adjust in-phase to –5% speed.

 

6,Assistant adjusting speed "AUX" input

 

 The Auxiliary Terminal 12 accepts input signals from load sharing units, auto synchronizers, and other governor system accessories. AIS accessories are directly connected to this terminal 12,It is recommended that this connection from accessories be shielded as it is a sensitive input terminal.. When operating in the upper end of the control unit frequency range, a jumper wire or frequency trim control may be required between Terminals 6 and 7. This increases the frequency range of the speed control to over 7000 Hz.

 

7,Remote control rated revolution

 

can be used to adjust the engine speed continuously over a specific speed range. Select the desired speed range and the corresponding potentiometer value about 1~10 kH. An additional fixed resistor may be placed across the potentiometer to obtain the exact desired range.

Note  Remote speed control potentiometer joined makes speed rising, redeploy SPEED adjustment. Adjusting slightly DROOP to make generator running steadily at minimum speed. 

 

8,The technique to protect over-speed  enactment 

8.1Don't use over-speed alarm output in advance

8.2 Turn hour hand at a clockwise to the end for adjusting over-speed enactment

8.3 Move S3 to the position OPEN(Opening for effective position)

8.4 Start engine to rise speed for rated revolution, rated revolution will be increased

10% after stabilization running.

8.5 Over-speed enactment potentiometer is slowly adjusted at a counter-clockwise

until the alarm lamp is illumined. Temporality over-spe

ed alarm relay is sucked at the same time.

8.6 Connect the over-speed alarm relay to the control loop.
