A diamond blade is composed of the circular steel core and the diamond-impregnated segment.The segments separated by slots in the core. These slots assist in cooling the blade during sawing by allowing water(wet cutting)or air(dry cutting)to flow between the segments.

The segments or rims are a mixture of diamond powders and metal powder. The diamonds are industrail diamonds of different sizes and qualities on the material to be cut and blade type.During the process the metal powder and diamond powders and compressed at very high temperature and pressure to obtain the bond,which retains the diamond grain.
