Characters: A white or almost white crystalline powder, odorless or 

almost odorless

Solubility test: Practically insoluble in water, freely soluble in acetone, in 

ethanol(96 percent) and in methylene chloride

Identification: 

A. UV Absorption: The light absorption, in the range 230 to 350 nm 

of a 0.002% w/v solution in methanol (75%) exhibits a maximum 

only at 258 nm. The absorbance at the maximum at 258nm is about 1.3.

B. IR Absorption: The infrared absorption spectrum, is concordant with 

the reference spectrum on ketoprofen.

Melting point: 93~96°C

Assay(HPLC): ≥99.0%

Related substances/Any individual Impurity: ≤0.5%

Loss on drying: ≤0.5%

Sulphate ash: ≤0.1%
