Doxycycline Hcl(BP/SUP/EP)

Usage:Semi-synthesis tetracycline antibiotic.Similar to tetracycline and oxyteracycline in antibacteria sperum.Camparing to tetracycline,it has a lower inhibition concentration both against gram positive staphylococcus auteus and part gram negitive bacilli. Its clinic dosage is just as 1/10 as teracycline and oxyteracycline.

Appearance: Yellow crystalline powder

Solubility: Free soluble in water and in methanol,sparing soluble in 

  ethanol. It dissolves in solutions of alkali hydroxide and carbonates.

Identification: A) tR of HPLC test 

            B) Sulphuric acid yellow Color reaction

            C) Chloride's reaction

pH: 2.0 to 3.0

Specific Optical Rotation: -105° to -120°,calculated on the

                     anhydrous,ethanol-free substance.

Specific Absorbance: 300-355 at 349nm,calculated on the anhydrous,

                  ethanol-free substance.

Light-absorbing Impurities: Not more than 0.07 at 490nm,calculated on 

                       the anhydrous,ethanol-free substance.
