medicine gelatine is used to manufacture hard and soft capsules In the pharmaceutical industry, It protects the medicines against harmful influences, such as light and oxygen. Soft capsules are mainly used for liquid fillings, and hard capsules for powders, gelatine helps to bind the active pharmaceutical agents and extend their shelf lives. Thanks to careful selection and dosage, even the release speed of active medical agents can be impacted with the use of capsules. Gelatin-coated tablets(caplets) are a new technological development, with the gelatine coating ensuring the patients can swallow the caplets easily. In emergency treatment plasma expanders (blood volume replancement) based on gelatine are offen used to replace lost blood, hence restoing the patient’s blood volume balance.
