REFRIGERANT R408a
interim alternativet to R502
HCFC based refrigerant
low and medium temperature commercial refrigeration
R 408A, an HCFC-based refrigerant, is a retrofit refrigerant option for replacing R-502 in existing low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration systems such as supermarket systems. It is an alternative to R402A where lower operating pressures are desired such as in older systems with limited condensing capacity. No oil change is needed in many unitary and close-coupled systems.
Replaces
R-502
Applications
Existing low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration equipment in supermarket systems.
Benefits
Works with existing mineral oil (MO) in many unitary and close-coupled systems.
Alkylbenzene (AB) oil is recommended for optimum oil return.
