Technical Data Sheet
Product description
AL8866 is a series of aluminum pastes developed for use as the back electrode on single or polycrystalline silicon solar cells. This low bow aluminum paste is specially designed to form p+ doped layer when fired on a p-doped silicon (<200 microns) photovoltaic devices. This paste has been optimized to eliminate Al bead formation during the firing process.

Processing Recommendations
Paste preparation: Mix thoroughly before use (30-60min/kg). It is recommended that the paste temperature
be between 20-25 prior to printing.
Printing: 200-280 mesh screen with a ≤25μm emulsion thickness is recommended.
Drying: The paste can be typically dried in an infrared or conventional dryer with set points of 200 for 10-15 min.
Firing: Optimum firing conditions will need to be established by the customer depending on exact type of furnace used, wafer characteristics, processing, etc. For a typical infrared furnace, it should be pre-heated at 200-300 and the peak temperature should be 760-930.
Typical firing profile:
Thinning: The paste is supplied at the viscosity provided by the customer, therefore, thinning is not commended. Contact our sales representative for appropriate solvent details.
Storage: The paste should be stored in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight at room temperature (5-30)with tightly capped containers.
Shelf life: AL8866 has a shelf life of 6months for the unopened containers when stored under the recommended conditions.
Safety and handling: This paste is intended for industrial use by trained personnel. These products contain
organic and inorganic ingredients. Avoid prolonged contact with skin or inhalation of any vapors emitted
during use or heating of these compositions. The use of safety goggles, gloves and hand protection creams is recommended. Wash hands or skin thoroughly with soap and water after using these products. Do not eat or smoke in area where the products are used. Read the MSDS and product labels before using the products.
