If used in garden or square, insert the stand to somewhere where can accept good sunlight.Turn power switch to the ON position, and allow the unit to charge about 6-8 hours for best performance, then switch the lights to flashing mode or to constant light mode.Once activated, you DO NOT need to turn the unit ON of OFF again; a light sensor will activate and deactivate your light automatically based on lighting conditions. It will activate automatically at sunset and deactivate automatically at dawn.      The solar panel box can be positioned in the ground with the pointed stake.
