1. die steel  2714  is improved on the basis of 2344. Retaining the advantages of 2344, it has better hot crack resistance. Added with chromium which can enhance fatigue resistance and toughness of die.

2.The performance advantages and the uses

 Containing more Cr, 2714 steel has high hardenability. It can get martensite structure by air cooling during quenching. It is suitable for die casting moulds, die casting moulds with high performance, squeezing dies, etc. which require large scale, complicated structure, precision and extra long service life.

3.Standard heat treatment

Quenching 1,010°C-1,030°C

Sharp quenching tempering 550°C-640°C

Hardness 45-48

4. Hardness for use

It is 46HRC-50HRC in general conditions.

Giving priority to hot crack resistance, small squeezing dies use hardness of 50HRC-53HRC.

When they give priority to toughness, they will choose hardness of 43HRC-46HRC.
