Brown corundum is made mainly from bauxite, carbon materials and iron filings, smelting by high temperature in electric spark furances. Al2O3 is the main chemical ingredient of Brown fused aumina, its content is between 94.5% and 97%, and the other containing a small amount of Fe, Si, Ti and so on. Its micro-hardness is HV 1800-2200.
