IXPE has excellent moisture resistance. Moisture always travels from a zone of high vapour pressure to a zone of low vapour pressure. A humid zone is under high vapour pressure, whereas cold metal surfaces tend to pull in moisture from surrounding humid air. This can lead to a high rate of moisture permeation through open cell insulation materials or through the cracks even in some of the closed cell materials. IXPE with its closed cell structure has multiple cell encasings, acting as a positive barrier to moisture with virtually zero ingression. IXPE thus prevents corrosion of metal surface and as well as from creating moist breeding spaces, which could lead to growth of mold, bacteria, etc.
