Following is the function of each component:

 

1. Water Coal Gasifier-to make coal gas, the H2 component can reach 47-52%.

2. Double Pipe-to cool and clean the dust or ash

3. Water Stopper-to stop the gas circulating to other place by water when the equipment stops working

4. Tar Catcher-to catch the tar by static electricity

5. Washing Tower-to cool the coal gas and clean the dust, has a similar function with double pipe

6. Gas Pressing Machine-to ensure the gas can be transferred to the outside steady

 

 

Operating principles:

 

Coal burns at the bottom, the injected water and air will make oxidation reaction with coal and generate CO,H2 flammable gas etc.

 

 

 

There are six layers in the water coal gasifier as following:

 

1.Slag layer-it is formed by the burned coal and located at the bottom of the furnace. It is coved on the inner furnace wall.

Main Function:

a. Protected the furnace wall from burning out by the heat.

 

b. Preheating the gasification agent. The gasification agent enters into the furnace form the bottom, decreasing the temperature of the slag and increasing the gasification agent temperature.

 

c. It can also help the gasification agent distributed widely.

 

2. Oxidation layer-Oxygen and carbon in the gasification agent will generate CO2 and a lot heat after burning(C + O2-CO2),it is the main area for gasification.

 

The height of oxidation layer is usualy much higher than the coals by 3-4 times, about 200 mm.Gasification temperature is lower than the coal ash melting point.

 

3.Reducing layer- CO2 and steam will be reduced to CO and H2 by C. The main chemical reaction is:

CO+C→2CO
H2O+C→H2+CO
2H2O+C→CO2+2H2


4.Dry distillation layer-It will separate hydrocarbons from the volatiles. After separating, the hydrocarbons will enter to the reducing layer again.

 

 

5. Drying layer-Mainly to vapor water in the coal gas.

 

6. Bare layer-Collecting coal gas and transferring to outside.
