Biochemical analyzer provide tests for Glucose, Protein, PH, Blood, Ketone (Ascorbic acid), Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Bilirubin, Specific Gravity, Leukocytes, VC, MA in urine, and have VC Resistibility. Refer to the carton and bottle label for specific reagent areas on the product you are using.

URS-3K could rapid test 3 parameters in one strip as below:

The reagent test areas on Biochemical analyzer are ready to use upon removal from the bottle. The strips may be read visually, requiring no additional laboratory equipment for testing. Certain configurations of strips may also be read instrumentally, using the appropriate Urine Analyzer and the appropriate programme Module or Programme Card.

SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND PREPARATION:

Collect fresh urine in a clean dry container. Use uncentrifuged urine and mix the sample before testing. The sample should not be more than 4 hours old at the time of testing. Always handle specimens under sanitary conditions.

Note: Urine presevatives may affect test results. Preservatives will not prevent the deterioration of ketones, bilirubin or Urobilinogen. Bacterial growth from contaminating organisms may affect glucose, ph and blood test results.

For a semi-quantitative result red the reagent areas at the time specified on the bottle label. The ph and protein areas may also be read immediately or at any time up to 60 seconds after dipping. For a qualitative result read the reagent areas between 1 and 2 min, except leucocytes which must be read at 2 min. If a positive result is obtained, repeat the test, read each reagent at the time specified on the colour chart. Colour change occur after 2 min are of no diagnostic value.

VISUAL READING TECHNIQUE:

1, Immerse all reagent areas in specimen and remove strip immediately.

2, Run edge of strip against the rim of the container to remove excess urine.

3, Compare test areas closely with colour chart on bottle label or bench reader. Record the results.

LIMITATIONS OF PROCEDURES:

As with all lab tests, definitive diagnostic or therapeutic decisions should not be made or based on any single result or method.

STORAGE AND HANDLING PROCEDURES:

For Biochemical analyzer supplied in bottles: Store only in original bottle. Do not remove desicant. Do not remove strip from bottle until immediately before it is to be used for testing. Replace cap immediately and tightly after removing reagent strip. Store at temperatures 2-30°C. Do not store the bottle in direct sunlight. Do not use after expiry date. Do not touch test areas of reagent strips. Protection against ambient moisture, light and heat is essential to guard against altered reagent reactivity. Deterioration may result in discolourations or darkening of the reagent areas. If this is evident or if test results are questionable or inconsistent with expected results, confirm that strips are within the expiry dates and compare with standard urine.

GLUCOSE:  

The test is specific for glucose, no substance excreted in urine other than glucose is known to give a positive result. In dilute urines containing less than 0.28mmol/L ascorbic acid, as little as 2.2 mmol/L glucose may produce a color change that might be interpreted as positive. Ascorbic acid concentrations containing small amounts of glucose (2.8-5.5 mmol/L) The reactivity of glucose test decreases as SG of the urine increases. Reactivity may also vary with temperature. The kidney may normally excrete small amounts of glucose. These amounts are usually below the sensitivity if this test but on occasion may produce a colour between the Negative and the 5.5 mmol/L clour blocks and that is interpreted by the instrument as positive.
