Model PJK-2A is a popular digital planimeter with high precision.You can easily measure any areas of irregular outlines in any proportion and it's a necessary measuring instrument for geologic survey crew

3.Structure

Digital Planimeter Model PJK-2A is made up of main engine and power source.

The main parts of the instrument are below(see Fig 1 and Fig 2) 

4.Instructions for measuring

1) preparation for measuring

First put the power plug in socket on the instrument (see Fig 3 ). Then mark a point on the outline of the measured figure and this is starting point. Press the power button and the indicating lamp is. in this case you can begin your measuring.

2)measuring

First press “Clear button”.Then Put the tracer on the starting point and trace the outline of the figure with best accuracy, moving clockwise till the tracing point is back again on the starting point. If you want to hold the measured reading,please press “Hold button”. When press the hold button again, you can go on working. 

3)The conversion between the actual area and the different proporation.

The measured reading isn't the actual area. you can convert it into actual area according to area coefficient table in different scales

There is an area coefficient table on the back cover

If there isn't the proporation you wanted on the table, you can know the area coefficient

                           Area coefficient =(proporation you wanted) 2×0.1cm 2

                           The actual area =The reading measured ×area coefficient

If the reading to be measured>999999, you can think it's one.

5.Charge for instrument

The instrument can work 30 hours continuly in sufficient power source. If it works over 30 hours,the power is insufficient and the green lamp is on. At this time,the instrument should be charged. If in the room,you can go on measuring while it is charged. And if the instrument not work for long,the bettery should be charged.

6.Fix a breakdown for instrument

Notes 

1) Keep the instrument in a dry and cool place

2) When you use the instrument ,please handle with care

3) The battery should be taken out of the instrument when it doesn't work
