Calcium Silicon
Introduction
Calcium Silicon alloy is a potent deoxidizer and desulfurizer utilized in the production of high grade steels. it is supplied in the form of solid with approximate melting point of 1245°C and boiling point 1800°C in normal atmospheric pressure. Solubility in water, reacts with moist gas and water .
Application
Calcium Silicon is used to control the shape, size and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions improving fluidity, machinability, ductility and impact properties of the final product. It is an ideal doxidizer and desulfurater used in manufacturing steel of high quality and low carbon and the same as the production of stainless. It is also served as a starting material for other special alloys,such as nickel base alloy and titanium base alloy. Calcium Silicon Alloy can also be used as the inoculant of cast iron and the additive in the production of nodular cast iron.
