CA only allowed the authorized users use a particular operation. CAS is exactly this system. CAS can realize DTV service authentication manager and receiver control. It’s a comprehensive system, including system management, network, scrambling/descrambling, encryption/decryption, digital coding, digital multiplex, receive, smart-card, etc, also involved users management, program management, charge management.

Features

CAS is the core technology system of DTV receive control. It could be managed by time, channels and programs according to different situation. In the client side, unauthorized users can not descramble to the scrambled program, so could not watch them. On the one hand, CA realized distribute and manage of program information; on the other hand, it could realize program conditional access.
